Charles Rattray started his career in the tobacco industry working at the Fairweather factory in Dundee, Scotland. In 1903 he started his own tobacco house in Perth. A beautiful shop with dark timbers and light colored carpets adorned with tobacco accessories and carved wooden figurines of "Highlanders". The warehouses stored many rows of Oak barrels full of premium quality tobaccos which were blended in small batches by hand. The classic mixtures created there quickly earned a reputation of incomparable excellence, which is rarely seen in today's market.
